Edible Glitter!
You can use granulated white sugar or any of the crystalline sugars. Avoid brown sugar (too moist) and powdered sugar (not sparkly). Use liquid food coloring because paste coloring is more difficult to mix and may discolor when baked. Mix together the sugar and food coloring. Bake the colored sugar in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes. Store the sugar glitter in a sealed container, to protect it from moisture. |
